Grindleford
Grindleford in north Derbyshire is a small village, situated 6 miles north of Bakewell, surrounded by hills and moors, close to the wooded Padley Gorge with the river Derwent running through it's centre. On the west bank of the Derwent is Grindleford and the East is home to Padley, although the entire region is referred to as Grindleford. The are is well known for fantastic Peak District Walking routes and the views from all sides are extremely picturesque. Above Grindleford the moors of Burbage and Froggatt can be found near to the road to Sheffield. Grindleford is also home to a train station with boasts a superb cafe perfect for the weary traveller! Within Padley there are several shops and the Derwent Art Gallery that displaces works from local artists; a great attraction to the area.
